The idea for Black Butterfly was formed many years ago, but its inception is new. The name is taken from a song of the same name, by The Sounds of Blackness. The lyrics encapsulated our own philosophy of nurturing talent and inspiring members of our community to be all that they can be.

We finally set up the organisation as a response to the effects of systemic inequalities, but our hope is that it will be a catalyst for change, growth and renewal.
